Liza J design

The story of Liza J design began after Norfolk born artist Liza Cole painted the 'giraffe on orange' canvas which became the very first collection titled 'Jungle Original'. Take a step back a few years, Liza always had a passion for art (previously proudly achieving an A* in the subject); then in 2005 graduating from part of the University of East Anglia with a 2:1 BA (hons) Interior and Spatial Design with Business Management degree.

Liza loves mural design; bespoke artwork direct on interior walls to complement existing fabrics and decor. When it came to designing her own nursery Liza was able to create a unique large feature wall mural; giving inspiration to create canvases designed for the nursery, playroom and child’s bedroom interior.

Beautifully hand painted canvases using emulsion, the medium derived from painting murals onto walls offering a soft matt finish that easily complements your decor.

Not On The High Street

Late 2007 Liza J design was honoured to be invited to join notonthehighstreet.com a rapidly growing website showcasing unique products.

After a successful broad range of designs in the original art collection; magazine features in Vogue and Easy Living and recognition by Theo Paphitis and Jacqueline Gold, Liza J design introduced new product ranges of gorgeous and brightly coloured children’s prints. After mastering the technique of reproducing original artwork to prints; Liza introduced another product range of greeting cards midway through 2016. Most of the greeting cards still have an aspect of painting and have been received extremely well, in January 2017 the range was launched on the new Etsy store!

All works designed by Liza Cole are original, hand painted (or reproduced as fine art prints from original hand painted works of art) and lovingly produced in a studio within Norfolk in the UK.

As chosen by Theo Paphitis (#SBS Small Business Sunday) and Jacqueline Gold (#WOW Women in Business). As featured in Vogue Magazine and Easy Living Magazine. Article in local newspaper and sponsor of the local Power Boat Racing team.

Location

Our original studio was based in Suffolk, just a walk away from the coast; new location for late 2023 in Norfolk, UK. All items are made to order: original canvases, fine art prints and greeting cards using advanced software and technology within the studio (and an old fashioned pencil and paint brush).

Materials

Canvases are beautifully hand painted using emulsion and finished with a water-based spray varnish. Prints and cards are printed onto heavyweight 310gsm textured fine art paper using archival pigment inks. More detail can be found in the Materials section.
